Chronic Pain Mgmt as a discipline within the medical field is still in its infancy, having only been recognized as a specialty since the early 1980’s. It is estimated that 50 million Americans suffer with chronic pain which is nonmalignant in nature. Chronic Pain may exist as a result of trauma or may be related to degenerative changes of the body, such as osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease. Haivng worked in Chronic Pain Mgmt for a number of years, I do understand all the various issues chronic pain patients are subject to deal with on a daily basis, to include physical, emotional and mental difficulties. As a result of my desire to help those who suffer with chronic pain, my website was born.
