All this mess started when Microsoft decided to release a system that has more problems than a AMC Rambler. I’m talking about the Xbox 360 red ring of death–or the 3 red lights flashing on the front of your console.
It all began when I had a buddy over one weekend and we were playing some online Halo 3. We were enjoying ourselves and having a good ol’ time when the Xbox 360 suddenly decides to freeze up. I figure the disc is dirty so I take it out and clean it off and then restart the console.
Instead of starting up, I get a set of 3 flashing red lights. My friend told me that’s the red ring of death and the only way to fix it was to ship it to Microsoft. I decided to NOT take my friends advice and look for an alternative way to fix it myself. That’s where I stumbled across this great lens full of do-it-yourself Xbox 360 repair:
