What is a Fascinator? Fascinators evolved from larger hats worn by fashionable women in previous decades. Through the twenties, smaller hats appeared at weddings and race meetings, cocktail parties etc. These often incorporated very long feathers attached to a small hat. After the fashions of the Nineteen Seventies and Eighties for large-brimmed formal hats, fascinators began to re-appear.
