The development of modern technology provides us with great advantages. Different aspect of our modern life such as transportation, entertainment and communication comes in different technological development. Technology solves many problems but we should take responsibility in dealing with it.
Yes, technology solve problems but if technology will not be use carefully, it might take us into another kind of problem .
One of the example is pollution. Unwanted and harmful substances and materials are now present in our environment, garbage in the form of cellophane and plastics scattered around, waste gasses pollutes the air, and waste as well as toxic in land, these were brought by modern technologies.
Smog, a kind of air pollution particularly hangs over many cities brought by factories and vehicles harms people’s throat, eyes, and lungs.
Another example are the consumption of fossil fuels. These fuels are burned to run factories and automobiles or electricity for homes. As technology grows, there are also growth in the consumption of these fossil fuels. Unfortunately, our environment will take millions of years before it can produce or form new fossil fuels naturally.
There are studies that shows that the earth is running out of fossil fuel supplies. Other believes that earth’s supply will be end up within 100 years, if this time will come, people must have to find other source of fuel.
A harm done by technology can sometimes be repaired by another technology, but still there are dangers that the latter technology may cause another problem or problems.
An example of this is an atomic power plant. Atomic power plant can produce atomic energy. This energy will not use fossil fuels, making our fossil fuels safe from consumption.
The problem is that the atomic energy produces radio active waste which are dangerous for living organisms. An atomic power plant could also be subjected into an atomic explosion by accident.
Scientist are searching for new sources of energy. One of this is the plan to use satellites that will collect solar energy from the sun. The energy that will be gathered would be sent for a receiving station on earth. This time the solar energy would be changed into electricity. this technology indeed might become a major energy source to be used in the future.

Many of these ideas for renewable energy (including the sunpower one) have deep roots in science fiction and have a real chance of becoming science fact very soon.
There is a lot of reasearch going on right now for renewable fuel sources but you have to wonder if many are being held back by the energy compaines not wanting to loose profits / market shere.

I agree that there are a number of areas that need to be considered when thinking about how we are going to deal with energy shortages in the future due to lack of fossil fuels. It really isn’t acceptable just to use all of this precious resources up to produce energy without thinking about the consequences in the future. Not only are we going to have to worry about the resources we choose to use in the future and develop technology to make these resources viable, but we are going to have to worry about the health concerns we have created by burning away the fossil fuels in previous generations..
