Welcome Seekers! So you are searchingout answers about Witchcraft, and what it can mean to you. Well, you have stumbled onto a few answers here. Read on, visit the sites below, and enjoy the ride! Blessed Be!
So you want to know what it takes to be a good witch?? Any witch worth their salt will tell you that it takes a lot to be a good witch. I’m not talking about being like the infamous Glenda here, either. We’re all a little wicked sometimes, but there are rules that need to be followed.
There’s really only one commandment that witches follow, and that commandment is this: If It Harm None, Do As Thou Will. What exactly does this mean, though? There are only so many ways to interpret the words “harm” and “none”, and this is where a little common sense comes in.
To get the Wiccan Rede in it’s entirety and get some more of the basics of our tenants, please visit Beginner’s Witchcraft.
So, “If it harm none, do as thou will,” Where’s the fun in that, you ask? Witches hold power that has been sought after throughout history, and you too can tap into this ancient mystery. What kind of powers? Well, I can think of thirteen right off the top of my head. Go to The Thirteen Powers of the Witch to find out!
So, besides all this, why do witches do what they do? Our practices stem from the ancient ways of celebrating the cycles of nature and life. Our Sabbats are based around the Sun, and follow the equinoxes and solstices. Our Esbats follow the phases of the moon and our own personal cycles of power. Yet it’s not as simple as that even, but we don’t have enough space to go into it here. Go to Wiccan Sabbats and Esbats to find out more!
Now you have the what and they why, but you are missing the how. There about as many ways to practice Witchcraft as there are witches in this world. Spells, candles, brooms, crystals and magickal wands are common to all of us, but the ways that we use them are many and varied. To learn a little more about how to be a witch, go to Magickal Tools For Witchcraft and Wiccan Circle Casting to learn a few of the practical magickal applications of Craft tools.
However, one tool stands out above and beyond the rest. Every wizard has his spellbook. Likewise, every Witch has their own Book of Shadows. These books are as unique as the individual witch who carries them. However, they contain much of the knowledge in the world about the craft today. You can buy countless books on magick, but what counts is the stuff that will go into your very own Book of Shadows.
Is your interest piqued?? There are so many mysteries that you can discover. Above and beyond all the links here, the following one is the best by far. If you truly want a compendium of arcane knowledge, please visit The Journey to Trad Witchcraft. There is more information contained in this one ebook than any seeker has the right to know. However it is there for the taking!
Keep ion mind that there is more information out there than you can find in any one resource! Witchcraft is older than Christianity, and has had many years behind the scenes to grow and evolve. I will leave with the keys that it takes to be a good witch: To Know, To Dare, To Will and To Be Silent.
Have fun on your Journey, and BLESSED BE!
