A bedspread, on the other hand, does drape all the way to the floor. A comforter is thick and down filled. A duvet cover is like a comforter without the filling. It is basically a large fabric envelope that goes over a comforter. A duvet cover can be removed easily to be washed or changed. You may also use a blanket or throw over the end of the bed or over one corner as an accent.
