With technology advances, our lives are becoming easier. Could you imagine if we did not have computers today. The world would stop running. These advancements also apply to the binocular field also. Today, with all the diverse features, there is a lot that you need to know when you are going to buy a pair of binoculars. Lets first think about how much are you going to be spending. With all the features today, think about what you want in a pair of binoculars. One of the main things to consider, which will determine a lot is what are you going to be using them for in the first place. These are just a few of the many things to consider, but lets go thru them one at a time.
How much do you want to spend?
Other than the features that you want, this question is just as important. How much do you really want to be spending on your binoculars? Like I said, big question, because this is going to tell you what type of features you are going to be able to have on the binoculars. It will also determine the quality of the binoculars too. Sometimes there are different places that are having sales events, make sure when you are ready to buy that you check around and find who is having the best deals with the better prices. The best prices may be right in your own backyard, so check around for deals. Not only will the price and how much you want to spend have to do with the quality of the binoculars, it is also going to determine what if any warranty you get. Make sure you check on this. Spending a couple bucks more today can save you a lot in the future. Now onto the next topic…
What are you going to be doing with your binoculars?
What will you be using your new binoculars for? You have to consider this just about first, even before you decide how much you want to spend. If you are going to be hunting all day and carrying around your binoculars, you need to consider how much they weigh. Higher magnification and clarity if you are a hunter is something that you are going to need and this may add some weight to those binoculars. You might want a range finder built in. Sometimes your eyes can get tired, you can get headaches due to eye strain. Some binoculars come with eye relief. Eye relief is the distance from the eyepiece to the point where you can see the whole picture. If you are going to be doing some bird watching, then you might want to consider getting yourself a compact pair of binoculars. Bird watching should be fun and enjoyable and having to carry around a big heavy pair of binoculars is not what you want to be doing. A nice compact set should do the job nicely. Astronomy binoculars are just what you need if your are a star gazer. These binoculars allow for a lot of light to be passed into the optics even at night when there is little light. Viewing the stars could not be more fun if you own astronomy binoculars made by Celestron. If you are going to be boating, you will want your pair to be waterproof and also maybe have a compass and night lighting, so you can read the compass at night. There are some ideas for you on this topic…
Features, features, features…
What features are you needing? Features today cost money and you will pay for them. This is one factor that will determine how much your binoculars cost. If you know what you are going to be using your new set for, then you will know what you need and can leave off what you want. Having what you need is more important. Getting what you need can save you money. Once you start adding features that you don’t need, the cost of the binoculars are going to go up in price. So get what you need. If you are bird watching, get a nice compact pair of binoculars, which is probably all you need for this hobby. If you are going to be out at sea, you need waterproof, compass, night lighting. As you can see from the examples above, know what you need and not what you want to keep the cost of the binoculars down.
The importance of good optics
How about the quality of the lenses? Good quality lenses will cost you more, but it will be worth it when you are looking through those lenses. Lenses today are made in a variety of different materials. Some include glass, high tech composites, quartz and even plastic. Special coatings on the lens can help to increase different factors. You will get better clarity and resolution. This will give you the highest advantage you can have over those cheap inexpensive binoculars.
Now understand that I did not go through all the factors that make up a great pair of binoculars. But I did go over the main ones, which you should understand now. Main brands are Carson, Steiner binoculars, Nikon. There are many others. Learn more by visiting where to buy binoculars

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the way you have described the factors that should be discussed before purchasing a binocular. I would like to add that for star gazing purposes, i would prefer telescope binoculars because these are lighter than telescopes and are portable. These can be safely carried to anywhere and the view is also very good.
