Did you know that most smokers actually believe that they enjoy smoking? See it here.
They think that smoking relaxes them, calms them down and makes them
peaceful and happy. They have actually convinced themselves, over time,
that they get a rush and like the feeling of smoking a cigarette.
This is one of the biggest lies of all time. As you will probably know, if
someone tells a lie or a myth enough times, eventually they will come to
believe it themselves.
Of course, I’m not suggesting that you ever lied about enjoying a cigarette
but I’m sure, if you think back to your first cigarette you’ll remember the
coughing, wheezing and gagging. The harsh feeling of that smoke in your
throat. And you’re telling me that you enjoy that now? Sorry, but that’s BS! I
have a simple way to prove this to you. If you think that you enjoy smoking
then let me ask you this: Do you want your kids to smoke?
I’ll bet you don’t. So surely this is a massive contradiction. When you think of
it this way, and then think back to the feeling of your first ever cigarette you’ll
begin to realise the lie that you are telling yourself.
The only difference between this and the cigarettes that you smoke today is
that you have gotten used to it. You don’t cough and gag in the same way
any more because your body knows how to handle it. But that doesn’t mean
you enjoy it.
You might enjoy the feelings that you associate with smoking but not the
actually smoking activity itself. And there are MUCH easier ways to achieve
those same feelings of relaxation and lack of stress.
Before you can truly quit smoking you have to come to the realisation that
you don’t enjoy smoking and it isn’t something that you want to continue.
Let me conclude this section by putting it this way. Hobbies are things that
you enjoy and addictions are things that can’t help but do. Would you class
smoking as a hobby? I thought not.

Think long and hard about why you have bothered to read this ad.
Are you doing it for yourself or for someone else. If you are doing it for
anyone but yourself then you HAVE to change that attitude first.
Now that you have hopefully realised that:
1. You don’t enjoy smoking
2. Habits are fairly easily broken/replaced
3. You can achieve deep relaxation and stress-release without smoking
4. You can control your emotions without cigarettes
Once you’ve realised all of this it should allow you to change your mindset
and make the firm decision to quit for yourself. If that’s the case, then we
can move forward.

  1. Cigarette Monkey Says:

I fail to understand the distinction between the discomfort associated with smoking one’s first cigarette, and the fact that one can enjoy their 100th cigarette. Are you to say that the first time you go skiing and you fall, the pain you feel then will stick with you for the rest of your life whenever you go skiing? As far as not wanting one’s children to smoke, by protecting your children from something dangerous does that mean that your an oxy-moron? I think not.

  2. alphalady Says:

The difference is exactly what I said, smoking is an addiction, a habit. It is not a hobby. Skiing is a hobby, because you do like it. Smoking is an addiction, you do it because you are dependent on a substance. And you have a conscience that it will affect you even think you can not stop. This is why you would not want that for your children. More proof that you do not like smoking. THank you for the comment and regards.
