Before you do anything, you should first consider that the ‘beautiful and best’ usually come at a cost, and that includes money! Others have invested their own time and money, so please don’t count on something for nothing.
Now the method is pretty simple, you need to search for it. No, I’m not trying to be coy. You can doubtlessly find Christmas clip art, but to obtain the ultimate Christmas clip art, it either falls into your lap (hardly ever) or you search for it. Here are a few tips:
- Put your search terms in quotation marks and be as specific as possible. For instance, “nativity clip art” might work better for you than simply entering ‘Christmas clip art’. If you search for “great Christmas clip art”, be expecting to get a lot of results. You do not imagine folks to promote “hideous Christmas clip art”, do you? -BTW, Google found no results when I did a search on “hideous Christmas clip art”! (thankfully)-
- Be on the lookout for ‘royalty-free’ or ‘public domain’ clip art, which usually means that you may make use of it as much as you want with only a one-time payment. You normally cannot resell the clip art, so please look at the licensing agreement that is supposed to accompany it!
- And lastly, before you buy, verify the file formats of the clip art. To be suitable for virtually all applications (with a little editing), most should come as JPG/JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, or a mixture of these. Vector and layer formats like EPS, PSD, and WMF are not as widely accepted as the other formats and usually require more specialized editing software.
That’s fundamentally it! So go for the gold for a great image-filled holiday season!
