Yes, you can cut your energy bills with a Small Homemade Wind Generator. Winter is upon us and now is the time to save on those utility bills as far as possible. It is easier and more efficient than you may think. So, why am I thinking in this direction? Well…let’s see!
It’s kind of amazing, and a little overwhelming, the sheer volume of products available to winterize your home. As I was looking through a sale catalog from a home improvement chain I realized that I could easily make my home more energy efficient and cut energy bills and all for only a few bucks.
Since there is already a little nip in the air where I live I’m going to get started this weekend. If you want to get started on winterizing your home too, or just want to make it more energy efficient no matter what season it is, you can follow these simple tips too.
1. The first thing I’m going to do is insulate.
I’m going to add insulation to my attic, get an insulating blanket for my water heater, insulating sleeves for my pipes, insulation for the back of my light switches and switch plates, and an insulation kit for my windows.
2. The next step will be to replace a couple of my old windows.
I might even be eligible for a tax credit from my favorite uncle. Tax credits of up to $1,500 are available for some energy saving home projects.
3. The third, and final, thing I’m going to do is build my own small homemade wind generator.
Two of my neighbors have installed wind generators that they built themselves and they are saving about 80% on their electric bills. Of course where you stay and how much wind you have will influence this.
Since it only cost them about $200 to build their own small homemade wind generators they will get their money back in just a month or two. I found out that they are generating about 60% of all the energy they need from just one turbine.
So that’s it, my to do list. The nice thing is that these simple changes will cut energy bills not only this winter but all year long and for many years to come.
OK, it is time to get started. Have a look at Small Homemade Wind Generators for more tips and ideas.
