Rock climbing like most sports requires both physical and mental focus to achieve success. In this small article I am going to outlines some of my own tips I would recommend to beginners starting out in rock climbing.
1. Prepare beforehand for your climb
If your climbing a range of terrains you have to make sure they properly prepare for each terrain. For example you would need different equipment if you were ice climbing than indoor climbing wouldn’t you? Make sure you are fully equipped with everything you would need for the climb.
2. Be mentally prepared
Being mentally prepared beforehand is important in any sport, and most sporting athletes will also tell you this. I call it being in “the zone”. When you are in the zone you believe that anything is possible, and you think of nothing else except the end result, which is you at the top. This could potentially determine whether you succeed or fail on your climb.
