With the recent interest in all things pertaining to the environment, it just makes sense to make your own homemade beauty products. By making your own homemade beauty products, you can save considerably over buying commercial beauty products loaded with chemical that are bad for your skin and bad for the environment too. Maybe you have never thought about commercial beauty products being bad for the environment, but they most certainly are.
In contrast to homemade beauty products which are made from wholesome, natural ingredients, commercial beauty products are loaded with harmful chemicals that eventually make it into our watershed after they are washed off. Not to mention the packaging they come in! Most creams, lotions and the like are manufactured in plastic containers, mainly because they are cheap. We all know that plastic takes generations to decompose, and is straining our landfills to overflowing. Plastic is not the only problem, however. Many commercial beauty products come not only in plastic containers, but also in cardboard boxes which are over-wrapped with even more plastic.
But by choosing to create your own homemade beauty products, with natural ingredients such as salt, sugar, honey, lemons and vegetable oils, you can avoid adding to the toxins leaching into our water. Not only that, homemade beauty products work just as well or better as the expensive commercial brands do. Don’t pay extra just for expensive packaging. You can create your own lotions, creams, lip balms and spa products for mere pennies as compared to the exclusive beauty brands purchased in department stores.
Think that it is too hard to create homemade beauty products like these at home? Not at all! In reality, it is much, much easier than you think to make your own homemade beauty products. For instance, do you like the pretty, fragrant bath salts that you buy in the bath and body shops? There’s no disputing that they are lovely; however, do you really like the excessive mark up that you pay on them? The raw materials for bath salts that cost $15.99 in designer bath boutiques cost about $2.30 to purchase. What’s more, they can be made in mere minutes, with simple ingredients you may already have on hand.
So, don’t support the big multi-national beauty companies and contribute to the pollution problem! Instead, learn all about the many great homemade beauty products you can make yourself. Not only is it money saving, it is so much fun to do! Check this out for more.

Hi Norje,
I 100% agree with you! When you prepare natural homemade face mask, you know the result it will give you, unlike when you buy a big brand name cream, you don’t really know what it is made of.
Also I love homemade beauty products, because you could simply whip up it with the same ingredients you use to make breakfast
Best wishes,
Vicky
