Garmin nuvi 200 GPS

The Garmin nuvi 200 GPS navigator is pretty much the same exact size as the discontinued Garmin nuvi 300 series. The width and height of the unit are almost the same, but the nuvi 200 is a little thinner than the older Garmin nuvi 300. they also weigh almost the same.

Like the Garmin 300 series, there is an power switch at the top, but the operation of the power switch has changed a bit. It is a slider instead of the button found on the 300 series. You have to slide the slider to the left and then release the slider to turn the Garmin 200 unit on or off. You can also move the slider to the right in order to lock the device from any input into the GPS unit.The Garmin nuvi 200 is a great little GPS navigator. I have found that the best deals on the Garmin nuvi 200 can be found by shopping around online prior to your purchase. You should compare Garmin nuvi prices before you purchase your new unit.

Garmin nuvi 200w GPS

I have not had the Garmin 200w unit for very long but I have tested it out and it seems to be a very accurate GPS unit. It sometimes takes a little too long for my taste to find a satellite lock and reception but it is not too, bad. Maybe I’m just too impatient.

The Garmin nuvi 200w GPS Navigator does offer some really great features such as a JPEG picture viewer that offers the user a slide show function. The Garmin nuvi also offers a world clock and a handy currency converter and a measurement converter if you need them and more.

I have had a chance to tryout some other GPS navigation units before I purchased the Garmin nuvi 200w. (I tried a TomTom and the Garmin nuvi 350 GPS.  The Garmin nuvi 200W is a far better GPS device than the TomTom I tried. But I did find that the Garmin nuvi 350 is a far better unit. The downside was that the Garmin 350 cost a lot more than the Gamin nuvi 200w and I don’t really need all the extra features that you can find on the Garmin nuvi 350 such as the integrated mp3 player. If all you’re looking for is a great basic GPS navigation unit just to get you around town, then I would recomend buying the Garmin nuvi 200w. The nuvi200w is pretty inexpensive for a wide-screen GPS unit compared to some of the other higher-end Garmin GPS navigators.

Garmin nuvi 250 GPS

Would you be giving up anything important by purchasing a Garmin nuvi 250 versus the Garmin nuvi 350? I had a chance to compare the Garmin nuvi 250 and a now discontinued Garmin nuvi 360. The nuvi 360 virtually a Garmin nuvi 350 Bluetooth phone interface capabilities and an FM modulator. Here is what I discovered.

The cases and over all design of the two Garmin GPS navigators are all in all, pretty much the same. Both of the Garmin units feature a 3.5″, fullcolor touch-screen. I’m am also happy to say that Garmin didn’t try to cut any corners by adding a cheaper more reflective screen. The differences that I found is the nuvi 250 uses an internal GPS antenna as the Gamin nuvi 360 uses a fold-out antenna system. Both units use a mini USB connection which supplies power. I like the fact that the mounting bracket on the Garmin nuvi 360 allows you to hook up the power cable to it. Where with the Gamin nuvi 250 GPS, you are required to disconnect the cord from the GPS unit when you remove it from the bracket.

Garmin nuvi 250W GPS

The first things you are going to notice about the Garmin nuvi 250W is it’s the first Garmin nuvi re-design in a couple of years. The Garmin nuvi 300 and the Garmin nuvi 600 GPS series units have all shared the same gray, square design. The new Garmin 200-series nuvi’s offers a new and improved, nice two-tone scheme, they have a more sophisticated case.

The Garmin nuvi 250W has a great, high quality 4.3″ fullcolor display that is used on the more expensive Garmin nuvi 660 GPS and the Garmin nuvi 680 GPS.

You might also notice that the new Garmin nuvi 250W is that unlike the Garmin nuvi 300 and Garmin nuvi 600 series units that use the standard fold-out type of antenna, thenew  Garmin nuvi 250W has finally added an internal antenna that isn’t visible and best of all, doesn’t need to be folded out when using the GPS unit.

The nuvi 250W is also a more solid unit than previous Garmin nuvi units. This Garmin GPS unit is a great buy!

Garmin nuvi 260 GPS

The new Garmin nuvi 260 GPS unit has got to be one of the nicest of Garmin’s budget nuvi 200 series. This is a basic, no frills Garmin GPS unit, but it uses the very popular Garmin user interface and the unit calls out the street names. This way you get “drive 1.5 miles, then turn right on Elm Street,” instead of the standard “drive 1.5 miles, then turn left.” Besides that, it is almost identically the same as the Garmin nuvi 250 GPS. Both use a 3.5″ full-color touch-screen, offer 6,000,000 Points of Interest, and of course, plenty of preloaded maps. The Garmin nuvi 260W is the same GPS unit as the Garmin nuvi 260, with a wider, 4.3″ screen.
