Is your goldfish swimming upside down? Is it finding it hard to swim to the bottom of the tank to pick up food? Is the goldfish swimming awkwardly and finding it impossible to stay upright? Does it try to support itself in the plants?
It’s obvious that you have a sick goldfish on your hands but do you know what the cause could be? Is there hope for your upside down goldfish?
It could be various problems and if the fish is diseased then there may be no cure. Some diseases in goldfish are very difficult to diagnose and by the time you have worked out what is wrong, it could be too late to do anything to help your sick goldfish.
A sick goldfish is not like a cat that you can put into a basket, making it safe and secure while you drive it to the vet. Have you ever had to transport fish? You live in fear of having to make an emergency stop! Hmm, I wonder if fish get travel sick?
However, there are some fish buoyancy problems that ARE treatable and in these cases it can be very simple to cure your sick goldfish and prevent the problem recurring. And if your goldfish has the same problem as mine then it will be very inexpensive as it won’t involve a trip to the vet and you will not need any costly drugs.
“My goldfish swims upside down” outlines the possible causes and the treatment for a sick goldfish that is er….swimming upside down!

I remember once that my goldfish is in the same state as yours and I almost brought the entire tank to a vet. However, one of my dad’s friend who is a fish lover came to help and he drop some type of solution into the tank. Amazingly, the goldfish recovered. Anyway, glad to hear that your fish is fine.
