Oil painting is a fun and rewarding hobby when you have the right tools and a good instructor. Bob Ross offers both of those things. You’ve probably seen his show on PBS stations- “Joy of Painting with Bob Ross”. They have been a regular show for many many years and are what peaked my interest in learning how to paint. His wet-on-wet painting technique and superb teaching skills makes it a lot easier to create stunning results, even if you are a beginner painter.
All you need to get started are the right tools:
1. Quality Oil Paints
2. the right kinds of brushes
3. A good instructional DVD
4. Canvas’ and a table top easel
5. Liquid White for your base for the wet-on-wet technique.
