Knowing how to get to sleep faster is something that a lot of people like yourself are searching for the answers to. I was in the same boat recently but was fortunate enough to find some simple techniques that really work and make going to sleep faster much easier.
Nothing is worse than lying in bed, staring at the ceiling and being conscious of the fact that you are unable to fall asleep, this just makes it a whole lot worse and this horrible situation continues. So, it’s time to get it sorted once and for all with some simple tips an techniques.
1.) Breathing
Believe it or not, when it comes down to methods of how to get to sleep faster, breathing will always be up there as one of the most important factors.
What you need to do, is get comfortable in bed, turn off the lights and make sure there are no noisy distractions to interrupt your thoughts. Then, focus on your breathing and pay attention to it. Slow you breathing down to long slow breaths, all the time consciously focussing on your breaths in and out. Get gradually slower and slower and before long you will be asleep.
The good thing about this method is that it gets easier and quicker the more you do it.
2.) Relax your mind
You won’t find this tip on many other sites, but it is something that works for me about 80% of the time I use it to help me fall asleep faster – and it is surprisingly effective.
If you find your mind unable to switch off at night, stop all thoughts and then focus on a perfect, happy image in your mind. This could be anything at all as long as it makes you feel relaxed and peaceful. This still gives your over-active mind something to think about, but at the same time will relax you into eventual sleep.
3.) Mood music
If you are looking for a great and easy way for how to get to sleep faster, then this one is probably one of the best.
Just take a bit of time to find some relaxing mood music that you find peaceful and calming. For me, it is the sound of a beach with the gentle lapping of waves along with some birds singing in the distance. You can either download these tracks off the internet, or you can order CD’s and tapes of this sort of thing.
Just lie on your back and put this mood music on quiet (not too loud or it will just keep you awake!) and before long you will be in a very relaxed state. Sleep will soon follow.
