Perhaps you’ve never thought of it before, but you could be getting at least a proportion of your home energy for free using the power from wind. On top of that, you could build a wind generator yourself – they are quite easy to build from the plans and instructions that are available. Many homeowners are now taking up the challenge to build their own wind power generators as a cost-effective means of using non-polluting renewable energy.

Using do-it-yourself guides, even the least skilled handymen can build their own wind power generators and start reducing their monthly electricity bills. By using second-hand car parts, odds and ends, and general supplies from your local hardware store, you can have your own wind generator up and running in quite a short time.

You could build a wind generator for under $500 and that means realizing the return on your investment years before you would have if you bought a professionally installed commercial product. Even if you invest in better quality materials, you will still find your total cost way below that of a purchased and professionally installed model.
