Affiliate marketing is one of the easiest and surest ways to make money online that I have found so far. It’s not only free to sign up as an affiliate, but you can choose from literally thousands of different products to promote. You can find products at sites like Clickbank, PayDotCom or Commission Junction, or you can just choose a product you have purchased that has its own affiliate program.
The problem most people have is once they have chosen a product, they aren’t quite sure how to start promoting it. There are literally hundreds of different ways you can promote a product online but you want to be able to get your information in front of your target audience. Those are people who are looking for what you have to offer.
One of the first steps you need to take is to be sure and promote a product that people are already searching for. Instead of falling in love with a product, find a product everyone else is already in love with and promote that one. You can do this by keyword research, visiting forums to see what people are having problems with or go someplace like Yahoo Answers to find out what people are searching for. Most people are looking to solve a problem that they have so if you can supply them with the solution to their problem, you have chosen a winner.
Next you can go to Squidoo and start creating a lens. Use those same keywords you found that people are searching for and put those in your title. Be sure to spread those keywords throughout your lens as well and just write about tips that will help them or answers to questions people have about the product you are promoting. Don’t give all the good stuff away because you want to entice them into seeing what you have to offer.
Next you can write an article and post it to places such as EZine Articles or Go Articles. These sites are also free to post and this means free traffic to your site. Don’t ever sell your product in the articles itself, but you can put that information in your bio.
